Bean came into the centre after she was found outside in a hedge by some kind people! Despite this, Bean is a friendly inquisitive gerbil who is great fun to watch as she tunnels and busily chews away at her cardboard and wood. She enjoys time out in her play pen and is well behaved when handled. She will normally pop her head out when she hears us (probably to see if we're bringing any treats!).

She would need a tank of a minimum size of 100cm x 50cm. It is really important that it is a tank so that she can be provided with lots of deep bedding (we use a mix of carefresh and hay) to burrow in. She also needs lots of cardboard and wood to chew on and a sand bath she can use. She drinks from a bottle which is placed on a shelf so it doesn't become buried!
